My Livejournal

Or Note me On My Deviantart

Most of you know me as Pale Majesty, but I am also known as K. E Myatt. I was born on November 6th 1987 in Wales and have lived there all my life, the mountains, castles, ancient burial grounds, forests and sea have inspired my works throughout my life.

I have been painting and drawing ever since I could hold a pencil, and I am totally self taught. I did attend 3 art colleges, but I left all of them after I became bored and unchallenged in the work they set me. I have now decided to work hard for my art and to get somewhere in life, and I am now currently working on 3 fully illustrated novels and countless novellas dedicated to Romantic Horror.

My life and work tends to revolve around the two greatest forces, Love and Death. My personal symbol, the Heartifix, was adopted by me in 2000 to sign my work with as it represents both sides of the spectrum. This is, of course, inspired by my favourite band HIM.

My heart beats for anything dark and this shows through in my work. I draw inspiration from everything, especially my emotions and music. I am governed by my feelings and I'd like to think that I manage to capture it in my work. I also adore Renaissance and Baroque painting, the sensual and languid anatomy and moods in the images are just beautiful. More modern painters I enjoy include Brom, Luis Royo, Victoria Frances, Scarlet Gothica, Dorian Clevenger, Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri, Ayami Kojima, H. R Giger, Brian Froud, Arthur Rackham and of, course, my beautiful Alex.

Books also inspire me and I adore anything with a gothic theme - I also have a secret love of true and fictional crime books. Some of my favourite authors are Anne Rice, Victoria Frances, Bram Stoker, Mark Z. Danielewski, Mark Mills, P.J Tracy, Gay Longworth, Koji Sazuki and many, many more.

Movies are also a great source of inspriation, I enjoy The Lost Boys, Nosferatu {both the original 1922 and 1970's remake} Interview With The Vampire, The Changeling, 300, Silent Hill, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Fallen, The Audition, The Tale Of Two Sisters, Darkwater {Japanese version}, the Grudge {Japanese version}, The Ring {Japanese and Korean versions}, Spring Summer Autumn Winter... and Spring, R-Point, The Shining, The Crow, The Breakfaqst Club, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride, Lolita, Dawn Of The Dead, Day Of The Dead, Children Of The Dead, Children Of The Corn, and many, many more.
